APRIL 2024
WEEK TWO

Preteen

Patience is waiting until later
for what you want now.

Bible Story

Esau's Impatience
Genesis 25:24-34

What could you miss out on by not waiting?

MEMORY VERSE

“Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don't lose hope. Wait for the Lord.”

Psalm 27:14, NIrV

Engagement Questions

  • What could you miss out on by not waiting?
  • Why do you think waiting can be hard for us?
  • What are some situations you really want to do better at when it comes to waiting and thinking twice before you act?

Prayer

“Dear God, thank You for giving us patience, and the ability to think not just once, but twice when we need to slow down. Show us how to love others by being patient with them this week. We love You and we pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

As your kid starts their day, ask them how you can pray for them today.

Drive Time

While on the go, ask your kid: “Tell me a funny story or joke.”

Meal Time

At a meal this week, have everyone at the table answer this question: “What could you miss out on by not waiting?”

Bed Time

Pray for each other: “God, when we are tired of waiting, it’s easy to just rush ahead. But sometimes when we get impatient, we make bad choices. Help us to trust that You are working for our good—even while we are waiting.”
