SUMMER 2025

High School

What does it mean for a high schooler to be resilient? Our goal in this series is to help your teen see the way following Jesus and finding hope, rest, help, and comfort in Him can develop strength and resilience over time. While it won’t always be easy, when they find their source of resilience in Jesus, they can rest assured that they’ll always be able to come back from any setback.

Week One

Psalm 13:1-6, John 16:33

You can have hope.

Week Two

Proverbs 24:16

You can try again.

Week Three

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

You can ask for help.

Week Four

Psalm 23

You can rest.

MEMORY VERSE

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31, NLT

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

As your teen starts their day, encourage them about something they’ve been trying to learn or accomplish. (Yes, video games count.)

Meal Time

At a meal this week, have everyone answer this question: “What is something you are hopeful for? On a scale of 1-10 how strong does your hope feel? Do you sometimes struggle to feel hopeful about it?”

Their Time

Create a compliment or encouragement folder or box—one for you and one for your teen. Anytime someone encourages you or says something kind, write it down or print it out and put it in the folder. Refer back to the folder anytime you or your teen need some encouragement.

Bed Time

Pray that you and your teen will not see failure as an end, but as a learning experience.
