What is Amp’d?

Amp’d is our middle school ministry for students in 6th – 8th grade. Identical programming occurs at each campus. Amp’d is a part of our NextGen Ministry directed by Melanie Lee. Each campus has its own director, Chris Horton (Lynnhaven Campus), Hannah Tyrrell (Norfolk Campus), and Liz Ganser (Strawbridge Campus).

What can my student expect during Amp’d?

Our win is to inspire and equip middle school students to develop a faith of their own. Each student will hang out with their peers, hear an engaging bible message, and experience intentional time in a small group to dive deeper and connect relationally with other students their age.

How does check-in and dismissal work?

Students may check themselves in using their primary phone number. Amp’d doors open 15 minutes before service begins. After service students will be dismissed and meet up with their family in the lobby.

Does Amp'd ever meet outside of Sunday?

Yes! We have additional high-energy, fun events, and retreats planned throughout the year. For more information about additional Amp’d events, visit gracebible.church/nextgenevents.

What are the ways you ensure my child’s safety while in programming?

All NextGen volunteers complete a Volunteer Application, sign the Volunteer/Leader Agreement, provide three references, and complete orientation before serving. Ongoing safety training is provided throughout the year. In addition, any volunteer 18 years or older must submit and pass a background check before serving; background checks are updated every three years.
Volunteers maintain a “two adult” minimum in every environment and one-on-one conversations always happen in public, never behind closed doors.
All volunteers wear an orange “FOR the 757” shirt and nametag in order to enter NextGen spaces.
We maintain volunteer/kid/student ratios to ensure the safety of every child.
