Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sonshine Island?

Sonshine Island is our Birth-Pre-K school ministry. Identical programming occurs during all services at each campus. Sonshine Island is a part of our NextGen Ministry directed by Melanie Lee. Each campus has its own director: Jamie Robinson (Lynnhaven Campus), Mark Gabele (Norfolk Campus), and Leslie Horton (Strawbridge Campus).

What can my child expect on Sonshine Island?

Our win is to partner with families to teach every child, Birth through Pre K, that God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Each room is designed to be developmentally appropriate that includes music, engaging Bible teachings, and a personalized and age-appropriate small group experience.

How does check-in and dismissal work?

Families may check in at our NextGen Guest Services area (look for the color orange) using their primary phone number. Sonshine Island doors open 15 minutes before service begins. After service parents will bring their parent tag to Sonshine Island to pick up their child and volunteers will match the student and parent tag at the classroom doors.

Does Sonshine Island ever meet outside of Sunday?

We organize Baby Dedication twice a year. For more information about events for kids and students, visit gracebible.church/nextgenevents.
