Frequently Ask Questions

How do I participate with Giving Tree?

  1. Pick up and scan out a gift tag at any of our campuses beginning Sunday, November 17th.
  2. Purchase the assigned gift–please do not purchase additional items.
  3. Wrap and return the gift with their tag to any campus by Sunday, December 8th! When you drop it off, we’ll scan it in.

Can I participate online?

Yes, you can!

  1. Sign out a tag virtually here.
  2. Purchase the assigned gift–please do not purchase additional items.
  3. Wrap and return the gift with their tag to any campus by Sunday, December 8th! When you drop it off, we’ll scan it in.

Do I need to stick with the assigned gift? Can I buy more?

We want to make sure kids and students in a family do not receive disparate gifts. Please do not purchase more than one gift per tag. If you are able to buy more than one gift, you may take as many tags as you’d like or you can make a donation here.

We also ask that you do not wrap the gifts with additional gift cards or Christmas cards. We provide the wrapped gifts to the parents who then label the gift as coming from the them. We want the parents to be the heroes!

What about students at NET Academy?

We partner with students and families of the Norfolk Educational Transition (NET) Academy by gifting them a family Christmas dinner! Traditional gifts are not the best fit. During the meal, the student is able to invite their guest to a catered meal made possible by your financial donation! This is a special time as these families would otherwise not have an opportunity to spend the holiday together. Thank you for donating!

How can I volunteer with Giving Tree?

We need volunteers to sort, organize, and deliver the gifts. Sign up here!

“One of our families received gifts through Giving Tree. When they came to pick up the presents, the mother cried.  She thanked us profusely for helping her give her children gifts at Christmas.  She was struggling to make ends meet and if it wasn’t for your generous donations, she would not have been able to give her three kids Christmas gifts.”
